The "A" style mandolin is OG mandolin with roots in Ireland, Italy and Greece these instruments spans the genres. The MD404 is a throw back to the original Gibson mandolins that came with black finish on the top and mahogany back and sides. The oval sound hole and the Mahogany add extra bass and depth, perfect for strumming along in an old time band or singing along to as a solo artist.
